  • Christmas is the stand-out holiday in December, and the media will likely be flooded with Christmas-related ideas since it’s such a popular holiday.

    If you want to pitch a Christmas-related idea, make sure it’s unique. One way might be to provide a few science-backed reasons that giving is good for your health.

    If you’re a nutrition coach, how about a story on how to avoid weight gain while navigating the holiday party scene?
  • Many media outlets will be doing year end reviews in December. Can you provide any commentary or analysis on the news of the last 12 months? What were the most memorable moments for you and your business?

  • Host or Participate in a Toy Drive. During the holiday season it’s important to remember those less fortunate than ourselves.

    Host or participate in a toy drive and encourage customers to do the same. Advertise your participation on social media by tagging the charity that you’re working with and asking them to retweet or share the post for a greater impact.

    Participating with other local businesses for the benefit of children is a great way to get your business name into the community.

  • December marks the official start of winter in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s a good time to pitch ideas on how to stave off a winter cold or how to fend off SAD (seasonal affective disorder). Or how about some tips on how to set a New Year’s resolution you’ll actually keep? 

  • December marks the official start of Summer in the Southern Hemisphere. The media will be looking for stories related to summer fun, as well as ways to take advantage of summer in general. Do you have any exciting last-minute holiday ideas?
  • Any tips for taking advantage of the longer days? Any interesting recipes using summer produce? Any ideas for how to unplug from work and truly relax?
